IRAN’S Revolutionary Guard, threatening a “crushing” response, yesterday accused the United States, Britain and Pakistan of having links with the Sunni militants responsible for the suicide blast that killed several senior commanders. In fact, Iran alleged that those behind Sunday’s bombing were hiding across the border in Pakistan.
The death toll from the deadliest such incident in years rose to 42, an agency report said yesterday.
Iran’s president President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad had harsh words for his Pakistani counterpart, Asif Ali Zardari, and in a phone chat with the latter yesterday, he demanded their arrest.
A Sunni rebel group, known as Jundallah, or Soldiers of God, that has waged a low-level insurgency in southeastern Iran to protest what it says is government persecution in the region claimed responsibility for the attack. The claim was posted yesterday on an Islamic website that usually publishes al-Qaeda statements. Its authenticity could not be verified.
It has carried out sporadic kidnappings and attacks in recent years – including targeting the Revolutionary Guard and Shiite civilians. In Sunday’s attack, a suicide bomber with explosives strapped around his waist struck as the Guard commanders were entering a sports complex to meet tribal leaders to discuss Sunni-Shiite co-operation in the Pishin district near the Pakistani border.
Revolutionary Guard chief, Gen. Mohammad Ali Jafari, said Jundallah was at work to disrupt security in Iran and he vowed to deliver a “crushing” response.
“New evidence has been obtained proving the link between yesterday’s terrorist attack and the U.S., British and Pakistani intelligence services,” state TV quoted Jafari as saying. “Evidence shows that U.S., British and Pakistani intelligence supported the group.”
He said the attack was “undoubtedly” planned and ordered by the three nations’ intelligence services and that a delegation would soon travel to Pakistan to present evidence.
Iran often blames Western countries, especially the U.S., of stoking unrest among the country’s religious and ethnic minorities – allegations those nations have denied. Iran has also claimed that Jundallah receives support from al-Qaeda and Taliban militants that operate across the border in Pakistan’s Baluchistan province, where Baluchi nationalists have been waging a militant campaign for independence from the Pakistani government.
Several analysts who have studied Jundallah say the group likely receives inspiration and material support from Baluchi nationalists in Pakistan. But they say there is little evidence of an operational relationship between Jundallah and militants, including al-Qaeda and the Taliban, that operate across the border.
In the Internet claim of responsibility, a statement in the name of Jundallah said the attack was carried out in “retaliation for the Iranian regime’s crimes against the unarmed people of Baluchistan.”
He was referring to the area populated by ethnic Baluchi tribes, who follow the Sunni branch of Islam and are a minority in predominantly Shiite, Persian Iran.
The statement also identified the man it said carried out the attack as Abdel-Wahed Mohammadi Sarawani, suggesting he is from the small town of Sarawan, 25 miles (40 kilometres) from the Pakistani border.
It also accused the Iranian government of executing many people merely because they are Sunnis or Baluchis.
In May, Jundallah said it sent a suicide bomber into a Shiite mosque in the southeastern city of Zahedan, killing 25 worshippers.
Sunday’s attack, however, would mark the group’s highest-level target. It also raised questions about how the attacker breached security around such a top delegation from the Revolutionary Guard – the country’s strongest military force, which is directly linked to the ruling clerics under Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
The victims included the deputy commander of the Guard’s ground forces, Gen. Noor Ali Shooshtari, as well as a chief provincial Guard commander, Rajab Ali Mohammadzadeh. The others killed were Guard members or tribal leaders, it said.
Iran was planning a funeral yesterday in Zahedan for nearly all of those killed, state media reports said. A second service will take place in Tehran tomorrow for one of the commanders, Shooshtari.

IN strongest warning yet to opposition leaders, Iran’s supreme leader has said that questioning the results of Iran’s June presidential election would be considered a criminal act.
Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who has the final say on all state matters in Iran, did not go so far as to order the arrest of those leaders, as called for by hard-liners, but his words signaled the government could take stronger action if the criticism continues.
“The day after the election, some people, without logic or reason, called the glorious election a lie,” state television quoted Khamenei as saying.
He said questioning the election was “the biggest crime.”
Opposition leader, Mir Hossein Mousavi, has said President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad stole the June 12 election from him through massive vote fraud. Hundreds of thousands of protesters poured into the streets in the days after the vote, prompting the government to stage a violent crackdown.
Although the street protests died down months ago, Mousavi and other leading opposition figures, including fellow presidential candidate, Mahdi Karroubi, and former President Mohammad Khatami, have refused to silence their protests.
Khamenei said he sent private messages to those who continue to question the election telling them they may not be able to control the future direction of events – an implied threat of additional government action if they fail to cease their activities. He did not name specific individuals.
The supreme leader has supported Ahmadinejad throughout the election crisis, including during the subsequent crackdown that resulted in hundreds of arrests and multiple deaths. The government has confirmed 30 people were killed, while the opposition says the 72 died.
The simmering post-election unrest has received less international attention in recent weeks, overshadowed by speculation about whether Iran will accept a UN-drafted plan to ship most of its low-enriched uranium to Russia for further enrichment.
Iran’s state al Alam television yesterday reported the Tehran had formally presented its response to the fuel deal to the head of the International Atomic Energy Organisation (IAEA), giving no details. Iran had missed an October 23 UN deadline for a reply.
World powers have complained of Iranian stalling and obfuscation on proposals meant to defuse a long standoff over its disputed nuclear aspirations.
Iran will risk rekindling demands for harsher sanctions without movement on the fuel plan and other nuclear transparency measures before the end of the year, Western diplomats said.
Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, according to Reuters yesterday reiterated that Iran would not retreat “one iota” on its right to a sovereign nuclear programme. But, “fortunately, conditions have been prepared for international cooperation in the nuclear field,” he said in a speech in the northeastern city of Mashhad.
“We welcome cooperation on nuclear fuel, power plants and technology and we are ready to cooperate.” He did not say whether Iran would accept the deal or demand changes.
Iran’s IAEA ambassador, Ali Asghar Soltanieh, declined to say what Iran’s position was other than that it was “positive.”
“We expect that our technical and economic concerns will be taken into consideration when dealing with the modalities of supply of nuclear fuel for the Tehran research reactor.”
The draft fuel deal was hammered out by IAEA chief Mohamed ElBaradei in follow-up talks to an October 1 meeting between Iran and six world powers in Geneva, where Iran also agreed to open a previously secret enrichment site for UN inspections.
Four senior IAEA inspectors returned to Vienna yesterday after a first visit to the site and the team chief said “we had a good trip” but would not elaborate. Details are likely to come in the IAEA’s next quarterly report on Iran in mid-November.

KEY opposition figures were arrested yesterday in Iran, a day after violent protests in the capital left no fewer than eight people dead, agency reports stated.
The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) claimed that those detained include senior aides to opposition leader, Mir Hossein Mousavi. His nephew, Seyed Ali Mousavi, was among those killed in Sunday’s violence, the worst since June’s contested elections.
Family members said they are being prevented from holding his funeral because his body has been taken from the hospital where it was being kept. Other opposition sources said the body has been taken by government agents in order to prevent his funeral becoming a rallying point for more protests.
Foreign media face severe restrictions in Iran and these reports cannot be verified.
An opposition website, Norooz, said police had fired teargas yesterday to disperse a group of Mousavi supporters who were demonstrating outside the hospital.
According to Mousavi’s website, Seyed Ali Mousavi was shot in the back as security forces fired on demonstrators in Tehran on Sunday.
BBC said the government’s immediate response to the latest confrontation has been to arrest senior opposition figures, as it did after protests against the disputed presidential elections in June. The authorities are blaming troublemakers for the violence, with the police denying that security forces are responsible for any deaths and suggesting that protesters might have shot each other.
Among those reported arrested yesterday were opposition politician, Ebrahim Yazdi, a foreign minister after the 1979 revolution and now leader of the Freedom Movement of Iran, and his nephew, Lily Tavasoli.
Yazdi’s son, Khalil, who lives in the United States (U.S.), told the BBC’s World Today programme he believed the Iranian authorities wanted to close down all opposition groups.
“It is a shameless and irresponsible act. (They are) arresting a 78-year-old man who has stood for nothing but freedom and open society within Iran all of his life,” he said.
“Any opposition now, they want to shut (it) down. We’re going down a one-way street that’s now going downhill,” he added.
Opposition sources said Mousavi Tebrizi, a senior cleric from the holy city of Qom who is close to Mousavi, had also been detained.
The protests, which began after President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s controversial re-election in June, have grown into the biggest challenge to the government since the 1979 Islamic revolution.
Yesterday’s arrests followed violent clashes which broke out on Sunday after opposition supporters took to the streets as the Shia Muslim festival of Ashura reached its climax.
Police fired tear gas to disperse crowds of demonstrators in various parts of the city overnight, according to reports.
State-owned English-language Press TV said eight people had died. Earlier, Persian state television had reported about 15 people killed. The official death toll for Sunday’s confrontation is the highest since June.
Witnesses said that in Tehran some protesters attacked police. Police responded by firing directly into the crowds, opposition sources said, although this is denied by Iranian authorities.
Tehran’s police chief, Azizollah Rajabzadeh, was among dozens of security force members injured in the clashes, officials said.
About 300 people were detained after the protests, police said on Sunday. They included members of the banned opposition group, Mujahideen Khalq Organisation (MKO) or the People’s Mujahideen, Press TV reported.
Unconfirmed reports said four people also died in protests in the north-western city of Tabriz and there were clashes in Isfahan and Najafabad in central Iran and Shiraz in the south.
Moderate cleric, Mehdi Karoubi, who came fourth in last June’s election, criticised Iran’s rulers for Sunday’s violence, an opposition website reported.
The United States and France also condemned the violence.
Iranian security forces have been on alert since influential dissident cleric, Grand Ayatollah Hoseyn Ali Montazeri, died a week ago aged 87. His funeral attracted tens of thousands of pro-reform supporters, many of whom shouted anti-government slogans.
Anger at last June’s elections, won by incumbent President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, sparked mass protests in Tehran and other cities that led to thousands of arrests and some deaths.
Mousavi and other opposition leaders have said the poll was rigged.

In other hand, Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei is calling for calming at a large demonstration and encouraging an official presidential election as pellucid acceptation. Khamenei said that “the Guardian Council has been emphasized to carry out investigation into the electoral fraud”. This decision based on the supreme leader is making more aggressive toward most protesters which causes result of more killed protesters and innocent people including real hero as “Neda Agha-Soltan”.
Neda was 20 year old Iranian woman who was shot by the Basij and died in front of cameras on Kargar Avenue in Tehran. People around the world are seeing this video from posted film on Facebook and YouTube and raising more tension throughout the world including Mr.Barack Obama, US president.

“The time is over for dictator in Iran. We want our rights and we stand up to get freedom and democracy for our country back. The regime in Iran will pay as other dictators. We will stop Khamanei and Ahmadinejad very soon. Long live freedom! We love you Iran.” : Posted by MC.Berien

Iran has been in a very dark place in the world over the past 30 years, and I hope that this brings light to the country” : Posted by Adel

After the presidential election in Iran, the reaction from Iranians who were desperate with an election result still remains. Besides, the Iranian polices along with members of the Basiji military have been enforced their actions using fired guns through the people on the street followed the command of the Iranian government resulted hundred of innocent people killed on the street. This is also brought up annoyance and compassion to the people around the world.
Why can’t Iranian People accept Ahmadinejad as the president?
Ahmadinejad was born in 1956 at the desert town named Garmsar, east of Tehran. He was the fourth child of a working class family with seven children. His father, who was a blacksmith, moved the family to Tehran when Ahmadinejad was few year old. He was roughly raised up in the family among the poverty and frustration.
After finishing high school, in 1975, Ahmadinejad went to Elm-o Sanaat University to study engineering. At that time, there was during the period of Islamic revolution by Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini. His activities of that certain time were dominated by ultra-conservative Islamic fundamentalists. Ahmadinejad soon became one of the key persons and founded the Islamic Students Association in that university after the collapse of the Shah’s regime.
Four years later, he became the representative of Elm-o Sanaat students in the Office for Strengthening of Unity between Universities and Theological Seminaries so called OSU which was established by Ayatollah Mohammad Beheshti. The OSU played a crucial part in the seizure of the United States embassy in Tehran in November 1979. According to the US storming idea, OSU committee decided to further seizure the Soviet embassy at the same time.
Ahmadinejad performed a senior officer in the Special Brigade of the Revolutionary Guards in 1986. Ramazan Garrison near Kermanshah in western Iran was stationed to be the headquarters of the Revolutionary Guards for terrorist attacks beyond Iran’s borders. According to his performance regarding clerical regime’s terrorist operations, he became a master of a series of assassinations in the Middle East and Europe, including the assassination of Iranian Kurdish leader, Abdorrahman Qassemlou.
Ahmadinejad took advantage on his position in the university to build up a strong network of radical Islamic fundamentalists under his principal activity as Ansare Hezbollah organization which was a radical gang of violent Islamic vigilantes.
From the history, Ahmadinejad is obviously seen as a typically chosen man by Khamenei’s entourage to replace a new history of clerical elite’s ultra-conservative identity. However, under the world pressure and civilized Iranian needs recently, the new Iranian President has now been demanded for determination of the radical policies including stop human rights abuses, giving up the sponsorship of terrorism, and driving away all nuclear weapons.
As seen from the above severe reasons, it’s no doubt why most Iranians have to stand up against this president election with the bravest manner and their own bare hands in order to transcend the most savage and brutal forces in History of Iran.

UPDATE: In the weeks since I have made this video, the evidence of electoral fraud has gone from anecdotal to irrefutable. The Iranian government itself has acknowledged that in 50 areas, more votes were counted than there are eligible voters. The government has acknowledged that 3 million ballots were stuffed, and lots of evidence indicates that it was in fact much more. The commenters saying otherwise in this video either don’t have a handle on the situation or believe in broad …
