19 Jan 10 Kenny Chesney Launches His Own Line of Hats

Kenny Chesney, the iconic musician who stands for Middle American country music, has been in the industry for the past two decades. With songs like ” In My Wildest Dreams” and ” All I need to Know” under his belt from the early part of his career, Chesney is famous for his on stage performances, strumming his guitar and donning the famous Kenny Chesney cowboy hats.

The Popular Mr. Chesney

Talented and charismatic, Kenny Chesney holds proud many awards that include ‘Best Male Country Artist’ and ‘ACM new Male Vocalist of the Year (1997). Last year saw him bag the ‘Entertainer of the Year’ award. The list is incomplete with him continuing to hold an important position in the music scene. His undeterred popularity still holds true with his latest Boston show tickets being sold with ten minutes! Keeping in mind, the country’s economy, this says quite a lot about him still holding a large fan base. And now, with his signature collection of hats out in stores, he will continue to live in the public memory for quite some time now.

The Talented Mr. Chesney

Kenny Chesney ranks third in North America’s list of entertainers, with Madonna and Celine Dion holding first and second positions respectively. He scores above Cold Play, Bruce Springsteen as well as the Eagles, making quite a statement on the popularity of Country music in America. In fact, he is worth $20 million more than fellow Country artist, Rascal Flatts. Last year solely gave him $96 million from his tours and record sales. June 13 saw him performing in Soldier Field with a full house. Considering the gigantic size of the stadium, he has achieved what few artists of any genre have. He even did a beer commercial strumming his guitar to ‘The country Jimmy Buffett’ bringing him into the television boxes of most American households.

The Songwriter Mr. Chesney

Chesney’s music is sated with autobiographical essence. The verisimilitude behind the meaning of his songs pulls at everyone’s heartstrings. It helps his fans identify with the man behind all that soulful music.

The Heartbroken Mr. Chesney

The year 2005 saw him retreating from the limelight after his much-publicized break up with actress Renee Zellweger after having been married for less than a year. He seemed to recuperate in his Caribbean boat while writing a couple of songs. The next year saw him bounce back with a punch that kept Country music in the charts like in the Garth Brooks era.

The Other Mr. Chesney

We often see celebrities venturing out into other fields, like having their own brand in clothes or design their own perfumes. Chesney preferred a more quite and masculine hobby turned business (or maybe it was the other way round), having his own alcohol brand. He might have had hits like “Beer in Mexico, but when it came to choosing his liquor, he happily went with rum and asked his fans for feedback. And now he has his very own signature cowboy hats sitting on shelves.

Get a catch of Mr. Chesney

In case he happens to perform in your hometown, do try and get a glimpse of one of the best Country artists today. He is sure to win your heart.

12 Jan 10 HSE Launches New Asbestos Campaign to Reduce Claims

Asbestos poisoning is a very serious issue, more serious than many people realise. Asbestosis is responsible for more work related deaths in the UK than any other type of work related accident or disease. It is said that six joiners die every week from asbestos poisoning. If you have been diagnosed with asbestosis within the last three years, you may be able to make an asbestos claim and sue the company that you were working for. In fact nowadays more and more people are making claims for asbestosis than ever before. In 1991 there were over 700 claims where asbestos was cited as the primary cause of illness. By 2004 that number had risen to over 1800 claims as more and more people discover they have asbestosis.

The seriousness of asbestos poisoning is also demonstrated by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) launching their ‘Asbestos – the hidden killer’ campaign. This campaign, which is aimed at tradesmen who may be at risk, is to raise awareness of the dangers of asbestosis and ultimately save lives. There are safety procedures that can be followed in order to help reduce risks and this campaign also seeks to educate people in these methods. This campaign, which is now being rolled out nationally, was trialled in the North West and proved highly successful. It is hoped that this success can be repeated across the UK.

The campaign comprises of various advertising and public relations elements in order to target as many tradesmen and businesses as possible. There will be adverts on major radio stations and in the national press. Adverts will also appear in trade magazines in order to appeal directly to their target audience. Campaign materials, such as posters and fliers, will also be sent out to plumbers, electricians, joiners and other tradesmen. A number of case studies are also being developed at a national level which will then be used to help inform those that need to be aware of the risks of working with or in the vicinity of asbestos.

If you have been diagnosed with asbestosis, or mesothelioma, and wish to make an asbestos claim, there are certain things that you should know and do. The first thing that you need to do is approach a specialist claims company who have experience in asbestos claims. It is best to make sure that the company you approach is a member of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL). A company that specialises in such claims will have experience and knowledge of previous asbestos claims that have made it to court.

Many companies will be able to manage your asbestos claim at no cost to yourself. Any fees that they charge will be recovered from the party that is at fault. The compensation that you receive from such a claim will vary according to the severity of your condition and depending on the circumstances surrounding your claim. Typical settlement amounts can be quite large however; many are upward of £100,000. Most companies will also ensure that you receive 100% of the compensation amount that you claim for.

We deal in a range of claims, including personal injury claims and compensation. Please visit http://www.1stclaims.co.uk for further information.

08 Jan 10 Maruti launches Ritz-an Indian car

The most awaited car of the year Maruti Suzuki Ritz has finally launched. Ritz is the eight small car production for the Maruti Suzuki stable. Ritz has arrived in style and has set the heartbeats of car buyer beating fast. The car has also created hope for the India’s largest car manufacturer to revive profit margins, that went plummeting down after the global meltdown and tightening finances.

Maruti Suzuki hopes are pinned on Ritz and is expected to imitate the success story of Swift hatchback. The Swift has sold 3 million units in less than five years. It may help strengthen Maruti Suzuki’s position in the Indian car market. Ritz is also known as Splash in Japan.

It is the first car complying with the BS-IV emission norms, ahead of the regulation coming into effect from 2010. Maruti Suzuki has carefully positioned Ritz in the Rs 3.90 lakh to Rs 5 lakh for the high end model. This price bracket generates the highest volume of sales in India. Apart form M800 which is below Rs 2 lakh, most small cars like Hyundai i10, Chevrolet Spark and Hyundai Getz prime and Maruti Suzuki Alto are in this segment.

The Ritz is fifth global car by Suzuki and the first car created with Indian buyers in minds. A specially developed K12M engine has been extensively tested, calibrated and tuned specifically for Indian conditions. Even the 5-speed manual gearbox has been reworked to use gear ratio different from that of splash in order to match dirveability in Indian traffic conditions.

Unlike international markets where rear seats accommodate two adults, the Indian hatchbacks seat three adults, Taking a cue from it, Maruti Suzuki has reworked the rear seat to accommodate three adults with enough shoulder space. The same goes for the centre console which has been re-designed to easy entry/exit.

The hot hatch Ritz is available in five variants- three in petrol and two in diesel. The petrol variants are fitted with 84 bhp 1.2 litre 4 cylinder engine and the diesel variants come equipped with the 1.3 litre DDiS engine. The engines are teamed with the quick shifting 5-speed manual. It is the only small car after Skoda Fabia and Tata Indica Vista, to be available in both petrol and diesel variants at the time of its launch.

The attractive exterior styling is symbolized by four aspects – the piercing headlights, boomerang taillights, a short cut rear fascia and the glass heavy sides. Suzuki has given Ritz a heavy European styling, what is commonly known in Europe as mini wagon. This has been a deliberate attempt at drawing focus to style and capability of the Japanese small car. Some Indian styling like th RR foglamps and the reflectors on the rear bumper has been incorporated.

It is made available in five different variants three petrol and two diesel. The 3.7 metre long wheelbase on which it is built promises more airy space and enough headroom for tall adults.

A well designed interior is dominated by the dual- colour coded upholstery and plastics. The hard plastics suggest a good value for money. The high seating position gives the driver an all round visibility thereby improving safety. The 500 litres boos space can hold luggage for a small trip.

While all variants receive air conditioning and power steering, the high end ZXi boasts of sophisticated tilt adjustable steering wheel with mounted audio controls, integrated air bags, standard ABS with Electronic brakeforce distribution.

The difference between a fully loaded ZXi and the Swift top end is just 35,000, but offer s more features. Between Ritz and Swift, Maruti Suzuki is well positioned to eat into market share of premium small car too.
