In a project, there are so many factors to consider like cost, time, quality product, etc. But, the top three ever-present factors in a project that need to be considered are Cost, Scope and Time. These three are also the constraints in Project Management.
In cost, a team usually ponders about the likely expenses to be incurred while building a product. In scope, a team tries to determine what the project is trying to accomplish. And, in time, a team has to finish the product with what time allotment given to them. These discussions are about Project Management, but what about managing the actual building of the system? There’s a different kind of approach used in an analytical way to handle problem-solving and management issues, and that is Systems Management. Sounds new right? But actually, it’s been used since the 50’s.
Systems Management is divided into three parts: (1) systems philosophy – views things as systems, (2) systems analysis – problem solving approach, and (3) systems management – address business, organizational and technical issues.
There are two major phases in a project. These are project feasibility and project acquisition. The former determines the concept and the initial development plans of a project. While the latter executes and implements the plans a team has created while also considering potential risks.
I had an experience before where in my team didn’t fully discuss the concept of the project we are trying to build. We suffered a lot because in a way we realized, in the middle of the building process, that the IT product we are trying to build is not feasible at all considering what resources, time, etc. my team has. Probably, if we have done a thorough study of the system we are trying to build, we probably detected as early as Project Feasibility stage that the system is not feasible at all.
Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) is one very useful method or guide in systems management. Developers use it to help them as they go along in building a system/IT product. SDLC is a useful tool because it describes the phases involved in developing systems. The most popular phases (common in many Life Cycle models) are: planning, analysis, design, implementation and maintenance. Samples of SDLC models are: waterfall, spiral, incremental release, RAD, and prototyping. Using SDLC is important because there is a smooth transition from one phase to another, there is a smooth execution of plans, there is a detailed description and set of activities for every stage, and it serves as guide. Thus, eliminating “groping in the dark” and confusion about what to do next.

After a year and a half of waiting fans of the hit reality TV show featuring fashion designers and a hot German chick known as Heidi Klum are ready to relinquish their everyday lives and go back to sitting infront on a TV screen. On the 20th August 2009 Project Runway Season 6 Premiered.

The show encompasses a group of young designers who must create their extravagent idea in limited time and with limited materials. In addition to being placed on a new channel this year after a lawsuit between NBC and Weinstein Co. took place earlier this year, a new judge has been added to the panel… the young, ginger, rehabed bisexual Lindsay Lohan (what a great bloody judge eh?).
Anyway let’s not get too mean or nasty here. The show began back in 2004 being broadcast on “Bravo” with Heidi Klum as the hostess of the show and is back for it’s 6th season. The first challenge of the show was for designers to create a “red carpet look” that showed their emotions, feelings and views (on what? I don’t know).
16 new designers will be competing head to head for the rankings and will be ranked at the mercy of the judges. Apparently all contestants will complete their works at the FIDM the abbreviation for the Fashion Institute of Design Marketing which many of the previous contestants also have. Also the new season has been filmed in sunny LA instead of fairly miserable New York.

Project Runway is an American reality T.V. show featuring various young designers going head to head in order to win the show. Fans of the show have been waiting for over a year and a half for it to make it’s return to U.S. television and finally after waiting for so long the show’s 6th Season premiere aired yesterday (August 20th 2009).

The show first hit U.S. television back in 2004 and quickly became a popular reality show with millions of viewers both within the U.S. and outside of it. One of the first judges on the show was the celebrity German model Heidi Klum, 36, who is now married to famous pop singer SEAL.
This year’s Season 6 has been set in the new location of sunny Los Angeles, California as oppose to not so sunny New York where the five previous seasons were all set. In addition to a new location a new judge has been added, the young ginger famous for her bisexuality and being admitted to rehab several times; Lindsay Lohan.
The show’s contests will all be completing their work at the FIDM (Fashion Institute of Design Marketing) and will be limited in time and limited in material. The first challenge set for the young designers was to create a “red carpet look” that was inspired by their emotions thoughts and views.

After a one and a half year delay Season 6 of Project Runway is finally airing on the Lifetime channel. The show was previously broadcasted on Bravo for the past five seasons between 2004 – 2008 but following a lawsuit between NBC and Weinstein Co. the show has changed channels.
This year a celebrity guest and judge will be added, the red head famous for going to rehab a bunch of times, Lindsay Lohan. Previous judges included German model Heidi Klum, 36, who is now wife of famous singer SEAL.
The show’s sixth season premiered last night (20th August 2009) and the contestants were faced with their first challenge which was to create a “red carpet look” that said something about emotions, feelings or views (what views or emotions these were meant to be I don’t know).
Most of this season’s contestants will be completing their work at the FIDM (Fashion Institute of Design Marketing). This season will also have the addition of being set in the sunny city of Los Angeles, Carlifornia compared to the not so sunny New York where it was previously shot. Apparently this season has already been filmed so it won’t be a live show unfortunately.

The third episode of the popular American fashion reality show hit our screens yesterday. Project Runway S06E03 or Project Runway Season 6 Episode 03, call it what you want, it’s great.
I’m not usually the one to watch fashion shows, nor do I really endorse reality shows. I mean big brother? It actually makes me feel sick watching that show. This episode is going to be called “Rumble on the Runway”. I think this gives us some idea as to what we should expect from this weeks show.
There’s only one question though: Who will be eliminated? Last week the team of 16, now 15, contestants were given 3 days to produce their designs for a pregnant fashion model. After 2 days one of the shows main designers secretly bust in on the group and discovered they’d barely achieved anything worth mentioning.
The show was first aired back in 2004 and has now managed to get it self a 6th season on U.S. television screens. Famous German fashion model, Heidi Klum, (also married to Nigerian born pop star SEAL) was originally the shows hostess and judge. Apparently the newly rehabbed ginger girl, Lindsay Lohan, is taking a spot as judge on this years season.
The show was first broacast on the “Bravo” channel but after a blowout and lawsuit between NBC and Weinstein Co. earlier in 2009 it was switched over to the “Lifetime” channel for this years season. I really recommend you watch it if you already haven’t!

If you like fashion shows and you like reality television, then this is definitely for you to watch. After a week of waiting the third installment of Project Runway Season 6, Project Runway S06E03, has hit our screens.
Now, personally, I’m not really a fan of fashion shows nor reality television. If my children try to turn Big Brother on, I’ll be like “turn that crap off”. I just can’t stand it. But Project Runway is something different, something very different. I guess the big question we have to ask for this week is “who will go and who will stay”?
Project Runway first began back in 2004 and after a year and a half wait since the fifth season, the sixth has hit our television screens. However, never fear, they don’t run out of twists to add. How about adding that ginger rehab chick “Linsday Lohan” as one of the shows judges? Or setting the show in sunny Los Angeles, California as oppose to Manhattan, New York.
Last week in the second episode of Project Runway S06E03 the contestants had to design a dress for a pregnant celebrity (I can’t remember her name). However, they didn’t use their time wisely and of course one sad loser had to go home. This is the first season where the show is being broadcast on the “Lifetime” channel. It was originally broadcast on “Bravo” but after a lawsuit between NBC and Weinstein Co in April 2009 the show was switched.

The show earlier broadcast in 2004 on the Bravo Network only has now been converted over to the Lifetime channel after a legal conflict between Weinstein Co and NBC. It now has over 80 episodes and has gone successfully for six whole seasons. Project Runway also features having Heidi Klum as a hostess.
It is the first time that the show gets been recorded outside of New York where it was earlier set. It has now been filmed in sunny Los Angeles, California at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising. The sixth season of Project Runway was due to broadcast on Lifetime in January 2009 but was held up until August for legal grounds. Project Runway has also adapted several hot judges such as Eva Longaria Parker and Lindsay Lohan.
Heidi Klum the shows primary hostess is a celebrated German model who first took to fame in 1992 after she landed a modeling deal. She is now celebrated end-to-end the United States for her statuette as well as being the wife of famous pop vocaliser of Nigerian beginning SEAL.
What can I say? It has definitely been a hot season for Project Runway with a lot of exciting turns and bends guaranteed to intrigue still those who arent at all interested in style. As I told before, if you would like to watch Project Runway’s season six finale see the link under.
